Rustic Fall Harvest Farmhouse Wreath

Image
I followed my fickle crafting heart straight into autumn for this special request. This wreath is overflowing with cozy fall vibes—a warm mix of golden leaves, cheerful mini pumpkins, and a farmhouse-style gingham bow. It’s the perfect welcome piece for the season. Whether it’s hanging on a front door, above the mantle, or brightening up the kitchen, it brings rustic harvest charm that feels like a warm hug of fall. The pop of wheat stalks adds a natural touch, tying the whole look together in festive farmhouse fashion. I’m thrilled that it will provide a warm greeting all season long in its new home. --- Crafting Notes I’m always cautious when it comes to glueing my wreaths. After deciding on placement, I carefully ran wire through the outer pumpkin fabric. The wheat stalks were bundled together with wire, and each piece was secured snugly into place before trimming and tucking the ends neatly into the wreath. Once the bow was secured, I arranged the leaves around the pump...

Uncompleted UFO Projects 2024

Image
Not every project makes it to the finish line, and that’s okay. These pieces werr started in with every intention of becoming something special—but life, new ideas, and other projects stepped in. It’s now officially marked as an “Uncompleted UFO" again. Even though it didn’t get finished, it still carries the story of where I was at the time—what inspired me, the colors I chose, and the excitement of starting something new. Sometimes these unfinished projects are just stepping stones to something else, teaching me new stitches, techniques, or reminding me what I truly enjoy working on. Started as a first Grandbaby blanket in 2021, it was replaced by another during a supply issue.  I found a neutral green to include in the rows. A simple half double crochet across with random row width.  The hope of a granddaughter caught me and i began this beautiful doll.  She also was slated for a continuation. The hope was to complete them through out the year....

Completed UFO Project 2024: Spiraling Into Comfort: My Crochet Journey

Image
Some projects take on a life of their own, and this spiral blanket is definitely one of them. What began as a simple idea to make something round and cozy turned into a flowing, swirling piece that feels almost alive with movement. I love how the spiral design keeps the eye traveling around and around—like a gentle galaxy unfolding in yarn. The stitches create natural waves and texture, giving the blanket a sense of energy even when it’s lying still. The process of working in the round can feel meditative. With each turn, I watched the spiral expand outward, slowly transforming into a full circle that drapes beautifully. The repeating motion of hook and yarn almost mirrors the spiral itself—endless, soothing, and full of rhythm. Finishimg a UFO is a reminder of patience, of progress made one stitch at a time, and of how creativity can lead us somewhere unexpected. This is a simple single crochet and chain worked in round rows.  I edged the blanket with a soft white sing...
